T Pennack & Sons, based in Chelmsford, Essex, have taken delivery of a beautifully appointed Mercedes-Benz ‘Lusso’ Vito from Superior UK Automotive Ltd, the latest addition to their carefully curated fleet.
Established in 1740, the highly respected, family-run business is owned by Anthony Pennack and his wife, Angela, and is now operated by their children, Philip and Sarah Pennack, who represent the seventh generation of the Pennack family to serve their local community.
The new Lusso Vito was the perfect choice as a more refined, less van-like solution for day-to-day duties, replacing the firm’s ageing Ford Galaxy. Featuring a fully lined interior and a deck complete with hearse-quality rollers and hole plate to carry two stretchers/coffins or one centrally positioned, it has been purpose-built as a practical, professional and discreet household collection and direct cremation vehicle.
Director Philip Pennack explains the reasoning behind the latest addition: “We are always looking at ways to improve both the presentation and practicality of our fleet. The Lusso Vito gives us a softer, more hearse-like option for household removals, while still offering the functionality we need daily.”
This latest vehicle follows the delivery of a separate Mercedes Vito last year, fitted with a Superior ‘Rise&Fall’ four-berth deck, further strengthening the business’s operational flexibility. In addition, Superior UK has previously supplied high-quality used vehicles to the Pennack fleet, helping maintain a consistent and professional standard across all aspects of their service.
Philip continued, “Both Vitos have been excellent additions. They are incredibly practical, easy to use, and well-designed. From an operational perspective, they make a real difference to our team, and from a visual standpoint, they present exactly the professional image we want families to see.”
He added, “The Lusso in particular strikes the perfect balance. It doesn’t feel like a traditional van, which is important in our line of work. We’ve already had very positive feedback from both staff and the families we serve.”
