Bastock Ltd was established by William Bastock in 1856; the Bastock family have now been independent funeral directors for almost 170 years, and over seven generations, the family have built up an enviable reputation across the West-Midlands. Managing Director David Bastock understands how to ensure the highest standards of care and dignity are maintained in this ever-evolving industry, and the Bastock fleet of vehicles is central to this.
C. Bastock Ltd. has relied on family-run Superior UK Automotive Ltd for four decades to meet its fleet requirements. The firm recently took delivery of Superior’s largest single car delivery to date – a fleet of seven stunning PilatoMercedes vehicles, including three Polaris hearses and four Lyra Limousines. David Bastock explains why he returned to Superior UK for this second fleet of Pilato vehicles.
David commented, “We have run many different fleets through the years from Daimlers, Fords, Volvos and Binz Mercedes to our most recent fleet of Pilato Jaguar XJ’s – our Pilato hearses were superb vehicles, and when the time came to replace them we were sad to say goodbye to our Jaguars but determined to remain with Superior and Pilato as we feel Pilato vehicles are the best looking, best build quality vehicles out there.”
Having been out to the Pilato factory in Italy to view the stunning vehicles available, David decided to invest in an entire Mercedes-Benz fleet that matches Bastock’s existing Lusso removal vehicles supplied by Superior. Soon on order were three beautifully built brand new PilatoMercedes Polaris hearses and four matching Lyra limousines.
David commented, “We were very pleased to have received the whole order in one delivery as we only added the third hearse later into the order process when we acquired local funeral firm S. Gascoigne & Son.” He added, “Jon Helm pulled out all the stops to get all seven vehicles delivered together, and when they arrived on three huge Russells covered delivery trucks, we were thrilled – they are stunning vehicles, and we are very proud of our new fleet.”
