Edd Frost and Daughters, established in 2013, is a popular and well-regarded family-run independent based in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The firm recently took delivery of its first vehicle from Superior UK Automotive Ltd—a stunning new Mercedes-Benz ‘Lusso’ Vito removal vehicle in sodalite blue metallic paint, perfectly complementing the firm’s brand colours.
The high-specification vehicle was built with a bespoke single deck, including full interior lining, soft halo LED interior lighting, and a lattice wheel bier. Managing Director Edd Frost explains why he opted for a bespoke build from Superior UK and how his first Mercedes fleet vehicle fits his business’s needs.
Edd Frost commented, ‘We were looking for a specialised single-deck vehicle to attend private residences and nursing homes. We are the only independent in Banbury, and we take pride and care in every aspect of our service. We want families to feel reassured of the quality and standard of our services should they decide to follow us out to the vehicle when attending a first call. This could so often be a first impression’
He added, ‘We were impressed with the Blue Lusso at this year’s NFE and began discussing possible modifications soon after. We discussed our storage, internal finish and lighting requirements with Superior’s Jon Helm, and six weeks later, we took delivery. The service was seamless, and we are thrilled with our new vehicle; it’s precisely what we wanted.’
The Frost family’s new ‘Lusso’ Vito has been on the road for a month and is working hard for their business, having already clocked up over 3000 miles.
Edd commented, ‘It’s our new go-to vehicle. Aesthetically, both the interior and exterior look superb. There is built-in space for all of our equipment, and the bulkhead makes it safer for our drivers.’ He added, ‘Our Vito is well-built and durable—it needs to be with the work we do, and we feel it ticks every box.’
Edd Frost and Daughters is run by Edd, his wife, Sophie Frost (Company Director) and Company Director Barbara Scrimshaw; Edd and Sophie’s daughter, 18-year-old Daisy, also recently joined the business. Over the last decade, the family firm has grown from 80 to around 550 funerals per year, and some of its success is attributed to a modern approach and social media.
Edd commented, ‘Social Media is a huge part of our presence and connects us with families—I believe that we were one of the first funeral directors to post death notices on Facebook which has become a huge part of our business. Visibility and communication build trust and familiarity, essential when a family needs your services for the first time.’
