Meet the team… Greg Platt, Northern Area Sales Executive

Tell us about the career path that led you to be a part of the Superior UK team

“I’ve worked in sales for over 24 years now, either in direct sales roles or in business development. I like how a sales role is an integral part of optimising three key things: business growth, team potential, and customer satisfaction. I love keeping an eye on industry trends and really enjoy the social side of sales, meeting customers and being on hand to answer their queries.”

What do you like most about working in sales and customer care?

“I was drawn to Superior UK because their top values – integrity, customer care, transparency and great communication – match my own. I am a firm believer in sales integrity every step of the way. Sales and customer care gives me the opportunity to demonstrate my commitment to people on a daily basis. I like getting out there, meeting people, talking to them, and really listening.”

Have you always been interested in vehicles?

“Ever since I can remember! With the exception of my very first job (which was actually a trainee electrician, back in the late 80s), I’ve always worked in automotive. I’ve held account manager, company director, and fleet manager roles (for both business and consumer accounts) both here in the UK and abroad. My roles meant having an in-depth knowledge of a range of makes and models of vehicles. I’ve been part of automotive industry teams during exciting mergers, new product developments, expansions and huge industry trends. For me, there’s no better place to be than in a sales and customer care role, because you get to see what the trends actually mean to the people who are buying and driving the vehicles.”

What was the first car you owned?

“I remember it well! It was a Honda Civic in delightful chocolate brown. It was all I could afford at the time and served me well. Since then I’ve owned and driven more cars than I can remember.”

You help us look after customers in the North of the country. Are you a Northerner born and bred?

“I certainly am, and proud of it. I was born in Blackpool and lived most of my life there, before working in Australia and then having my own business in Cyprus. When I came back to England, I moved to Yorkshire and have been here ever since.”|

What hobbies do you enjoy on your time off?

“I’ve done a lot of traveling, and lived and worked in Australia, then had my own business in Cyprus for five years. Travel is up there amongst my biggest passions in life. I also enjoy watching most sports, and playing some. I actually played rugby for Lancashire under-21s (even though I was only 18 at the time!) I love animals, and have two dogs which are a part of the family. I also sponsor a dog at Dogs Trust Darlington.”

We’re delighted to welcome you to the Superior UK team. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

“I’m looking forward to working with a family-run business who place commitment to quality and customer service at the forefront of everything they do. I know I’ll enjoy meeting new people, customers and business colleagues, and will look forward to building lasting relationships with my clients all over the Northern region.”

Thanks, Greg. If you’re a Superior UK customer in the North, you will no doubt meet Greg before too long. In the meantime, if you have a question for Greg, please leave a comment and we’ll get him on here to answer you directly.
