Superior Automotive at the NAFD conference 2013

The Superior Automotive UK team had a great time at the annual NAFD (National Association of Funeral Directors) conference and AGM last month. The industry event was held this year at a wonderful venue – the Botley Park Hotel in the New Forest. As ever, it was great to see so many people from the funeral industry gathered in one place to share ideas, talk about the future of the industry and to catch up in a social setting.

There’s always a lot going on at the NAFD annual conference: keynote talks, networking opportunities, social events (including a wonderful gala dinner) and the important AGM which just strengthens the NAFD’s position within the industry. Highlights included keynote talks from child bereavement charity Penhaligon’s Friendsand space burial company Alba Orbital.

The event was notably busier this year than ever before, with crowds of funeral industry folk in attendance from the welcome buffet and reception on the Thursday evening right through until Saturday’s Grand Banquet and Ball. Superior Automotive were there for the whole thing: Kevin was at the welcome buffet and reception, and was joined by his father Peter for Friday’s delegate lunch and then the evening event at Beaulieu National Motor Museum. On Saturday (the busiest day for networking), Kevin and Peter were at the delegate lunch, before Peter and Roberta attended the Grand Banquet and Ball (we thought Roberta would inject a bit of glamour into the Superior team for this part of the weekend!)

It was really fantastic to see so many people and such a variety of businesses from across the funeral industry. From independents to representatives from Dignity and the Co-op, everyone was mingling together during the conference talks and breakout sessions, the networking opportunities and the social events.

There are many reasons to enjoy going to the NAFD conference every year. For the Superior Automotive team, it gives us a chance to connect with other people involved in this prestigious industry organisation. We are proud to attend the annual event of the biggest and most respected body in the funeral profession. The funeral business is going from strength to strength and our industry’s trademark integrity and values are there for all to see – this is never more evident than at events like this when we are all gathered together under one roof.

This weekend, we are off to the National Funeral Exhibition. Are you there as an exhibitor or attendee? We’d love to meet as many of you as possible. Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook for news about where you’ll find us and what we’re up to.
